WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECK

Have you got your ‘Working with Children Check’ number yet?

All volunteers for Asquith SC, including coaches, managers and referees will need it.

IMPROVING CHILD SAFETY: Football NSW changes that affect coaches, managers and referees of U6 – U18s in 2018.

In the interests of child safety within the sport of football, FNSW have expanded the categories of individuals requiring a Working With Children Check (WWCC) number, regardless if you are coaching, managing or refereeing your own child or close relative.

A WWCC is now required for anyone over 18 years old who is involved with U6-U18 teams including:
* Volunteer coach
* Volunteer manager
* Volunteer trainer
* Referee
* Committee member, or
* Any other role with children U18.

The free WWCC number is now a prerequisite for registration for those roles in MyFootballClub.

So if you are considering any of these roles in 2018 to help your child’s team, please organise your free WWCC number as soon as possible. It requires a visit to ServiceNSW to verify identity. The check expires after 5 years. In some circumstances the it can take up to 4 weeks.

The WWCC is part of our tools for a child safe environment. AsquithSC encourages ongoing vigilance and a positive culture of a safe and enjoyable sport environment for our children.
